‘You don’t have to be rich to travel well’ – Eugene Fodor
Normally I am the person who tries to spend as little money on transport and accommodation so that I have the money to do and see as much as I can. This post isn’t about saving money but knowing that sometimes its okay to spend a little more and enjoy the experience. Due to Milan being a special trip for my 21st we decided to stay in The Best Western on Buenos Aires which is the main shopping street in the city.
The hotel was beautiful and in a fantastic central location. Upon arrival we were greeted at reception and the hotel gave me a birthday present which was unexpected but so generous. There was everything that you could possibly need available and staff were more than happy to help with any query that you had. My personal favourite part of the hotel was the pool and leisure area – I swim whilst I’m home so it was nice to go to a hotel with a nice pool. There is also a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and gym which is great for a lot of people who travel.
Most countries require some sort of visa but with Italy you don’t (well if you’re from the UK you don’t). What they don’t tell you is that when you check out of your accommodation you are expected to a government tax charge which is 5 euro’s per person per night which soon adds up especially with the current exchange rate. With this in mind just make sure you have enough money at the end of your trip to cover this.
I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a little bit of home on their trip and a little bit of luxury. With any trip make sure to shop around for location and something that is just right for you. This is only a short post but there shall be more to come don’t you worry.
Until next time
